Our mission is centered on enhancing the oral health outcomes of Montanans by fostering collaboration and inter-professional partnerships.

Our long term vision is to create an exceptional, sustainable, and consistent presence in vulnerable communities throughout our entire state. We believe that everyone deserves access to equitable preventive services. We plan to achieve this vision through mentorship , recruitment of local staff, community involvement, and partnerships with area dental professionals. We strive to continue to improve through collaboration, education, and innovation. Smiles Across Montana is committed to improving not only the oral health but the overall health of our Montanans.

We believe that our project is extremely valuable not only to the communities we will serve but also to our entire nation. SAM has began consulting with dental teams throughout the nation. SAM is sharing information, strategies and non-profit planning assistance to expand access to care on a National level, working to enable dental professionals with the desire and determination to improve oral health outcomes in their home state. We plan to provide a template for affordable, preventive oral health care that is not only sustainable, but easily replicated and adaptable. SAM serves mainly children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly, and we also have significant impact on the rest of the population. Our program educates entire communities on oral health. We work closely with area dental offices and health centers to assure that our patients receive needed services and routine care. Our program decreases the incidence of dental emergencies by bringing the vastly needed preventive services to areas of low access to care. The overall value of our program provides infinite savings for Montana residents. We continue to work inter professionally with nurses, pediatricians, physicians as well as the dental community to ensure the health of our patients and their communities.
